Places you should visit in Tokyo
Tokyo is the biggest city in Japan and is going to hold Olympic in the summer of 2020. You might be planning to visit at this time. I’m going to introduce to you some of the exciting places you should see around Tokyo.

1. The Tokyo Skytree
The Tokyo Skytree is a television broadcasting tower and was built in 2012 and now it’s one of the best tourist spots in Tokyo. The height is 634 meters and is the second tallest structure in the world. The elevator is 600 meters/min and it only takes you about 50 seconds to go to the top of the tower.
There are two observation decks. The lower deck spans three levels, and the views you can see from there is just amazing! There are also glass floors on the ground so you can see all the way down to the ground.
To get to the higher deck spiral ramp which is 100 meters higher, you need to purchase an additional ticket or you can buy a combo ticket at the beginning. But the view from there is just amazing and you would feel like you are walking in the sky.
Asakusa is the place where you can enjoy traditional Japanese buildings, food, and souvenirs. The first thing you can see is Kaminarimon, which is the huge entrance gates that leads to the Sensoji. Between Kaminarimon and Sensoji, there is Nakamise Street which has much local food you can enjoy as you walk, and also traditional souvenirs. Then you see Sensoji, the Buddhist temple. It was built in the 7th century which is about 1400 years ago and is very famous by both Japanese and tourists from other countries. It’s nice to visit Asakusa at night too because Kaminarimon and Sensoji are lighted up and it is very beautiful.
3. Toyosu Market
Do you like sushi? If you like, you definitely should go to Toyosu Market. It’s a fish market which is located nearby Odaiba and Ginza. Not only sushi restaurants, but you can also enjoy various food such as Japanese food, Chinese food, Tonkatsu (pork cutlet), Unagi, and café. In the morning around 5:30-6:30 am, there is a tuna auction and anyone can watch it without reservation or number restriction. There are parks and Lalaport Toyosu which is one of the largest shopping malls in Japan near Toyosu Market.
If you like Japanese Animation, this is the place you should go. There were once so many electrical stores that sold such as maniac electronic components, amateur radio, and railway models. But specialty stores for animations and games gradually increased after the emergence of PC.
5. Imperial Palace East Gardens
Imperial Palace East Gardens are the former site of Edo castle. None of the main buildings remain today, but walls and entrance gates still exist. It’s a very wide garden so if you have time and want to relax surrounded by nature, it’s the best place to visit. There are traditional Japanese gardens too and those are must-see!
